Bazayd Hussain

Articling Student - Canadian Office

Bio

Bazayd Hussain is a law graduate from Durham University in the United Kingdom, where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree in 2021. He has completed the requirements of the National Committee on Accreditation and obtained his Certificate of Qualification in Canada.

Prior to commencing his articling term at Rashidy & Associates, Bazayd worked as a Court Reporter for six years. Five of those years were spent with Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General, gaining valuable experience across the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. His exposure to criminal proceedings, bail hearings, jury trials, and family law proceedings provided him with practical insight into courtroom procedure and the administration of justice. He also volunteered with the Syrian Legal Development Program, contributing research on human rights, the rule of law, and resources for displaced Syrian refugees.

Outside of law, Bazayd is passionate about boxing, a sport that has helped shape his discipline, resilience, and determination. In 2017, he won the Ontario Silver Gloves boxing tournament and later served as boxing captain at Durham University, experiences that strengthened his leadership skills, teamwork, and commitment to continuous improvement.
